STAR
is a club for those who are curious about the wonders of the sky. It
is open to everyone with an interest in astronomy. In our club you can
observe and learn about:
- The Moon,
The Sun , The Planets
- The Stars,
Meteors
- Nebulae,
Galaxies
- Asteroids,
Comets
- Aurorae
- ..and
alot more
We use several different kinds of telescopes in the Stockholm area,
namely
- Two
reflecting telescopes and one refractor in Saltsjöbaden, south
of Stockholm.
- One
reflecting telescope and one refractor on The Observatory Hill in
the middle of Stockholm.
STAR
has meetings every Monday evening during the
season on The Observatory Hill, between 19:00 and 20:00. Then we show
astrophotos, discuss astronomical news and optics, use our telescope
etc.
We
have special groups for electronics, computers, astrophotography and
CCD-cameras, etc. In these groups you can engage in your specific interest
in a more concentrated way.
Sometimes
we invite competent people to hold seminars about something interesting.
STAR
also shows the sky to groups in cooperation with the Obervatory
Museum. Occasionally during the season we are open to the public
on Public Days in cooperation with the museum.
How
do I become a member, and what does it mean?
